To the attention of 3-rd year students from Bulgarian and English groups!
Dear students,
You are kindly invited to join the elective subject “Endocrinology” during the winter semester of the Academic year 2023-2024. The horarium is 15 hours: 9 hours lectures and 6 hours practical classes/seminars. The total duration of the course is 6 weeks. The enrolment of the course will be during the first week of the semester in room number 686 or in my office 699-1 in the section of Animal Physiology. The first lecture will be:
1. English groups – on 19.09. 2023 (Tuesday) at 9.15 h in Hall number 6
2. Bulgarian groups – on 20.09.2023 (Wednesday) at 16.15 h in Hall number 7
The main topics of Endocrinology course are the endocrine diseases in dogs and cats and endocrine regulation of lactation in dairy cows:
1. Diabetes mellitus in dogs and cats. Obesity as the main pre-disposing factor.
2. Hyperthyroidism in cats and hypothyroidism in dogs
3. Hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing’s disease/syndrome) and hypoadrenocorticism (Adison disease)
4. Diabetes insipidus
5. Endocrine regulation of lactation
